Tullow hits first snag in Uganda

According to a statement on the company’s website.

That said some noises are being made about the companies assets in Uganda. Tullow founder Aidan Heavey has told shareholders at their AGM [ May 12] that major oil companies [ and he names Chinese

companies] as being interested in the Uganda operations spiking speculation on the sale of its assets here

His comments that major oil companies are only interested but perhaps not enough to buy out Tullow could be carefully tailored to shareholders. Tulllow partner Heritage is also talking of a development phase in its Uganda program . It appears Tullow and Heritage are open to discussion on the future of their assets here both from the Uganda government [ which wants to build a refinery rather than sale crude] and other players including the Chinese and Libya’s state run Tamoil among others.

Even Royal Dutch Shell [ whose shareholders were a handful at its AGM] has been mentioned in relation to Ugandan oil.
