There is a vibrant campaign to replace the leader of the Forum for Democratic Change underway. Elections to replace Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye are next month. Its a two horse race between the current Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Hon Nandala Mafabi and Maj. Gen (Rtd) Mugisha Muntu. For a while now I have encouraged this poll Final FDC_Poll_Report 1 to be published by the polling company RWI whose close links to the party has led to accusations of conflict of interest.

In short the poll shows Mugisha Muntu in the lead as did an earlier one and a snap poll done by a two newspapers. The story of the poll is worth exploring in the future. Some vitriol has been exchanged between Team Nandala and its competitors as well as a lot of behind the scenes jostling within the party. Perhaps another time.
